How to play
Every game round has four phases. All players act in each phase at the same time,
in secret. When everyone is done the results are revealed and play out together.
- Reinforcement. You get battalions for your territories (÷3, minimum 3), for each continent you
hold, and 1 per 4 territories in your largest connected empire. Trade card sets here for bonus battalions.
Click a territory to add 1, Shift-click to add 5, right-click to remove.
With restricted reinforcement, a territory can take at most 1 + 1 per neighbouring territory you own.
- Battle orders. Click your territory, then a neighbouring enemy, and choose how many battalions to send.
Give as many orders as you like (1 battalion always stays home). Attack one target from several
directions to roll extra dice. Once per round you can give a surge order: click a territory you are attacking,
then one of its neighbours, and the survivors push on after the first battle.
- Battle resolution. Every army leaves home at once. Border clashes (two territories attacking each other)
are fought first, then mass invasions (one territory attacked across several borders), then single
invasions, then spoils of war (rival survivors of a mass invasion fight for the prize), and finally all surges.
- Tactical move. Choose one territory and move battalions from it into neighbouring territories you own.
Anyone who takes a territory earns a card. Knock out a player and you inherit their cards.
Reach the objective (a share of the world's territories) to win.
